SIR Rye Town Guide

The City of Rye on the shore of Long Island Sound is a flourishing residential community where traditional charm blends with modern, everyday living. Approximately 15,000 residents enjoy 5.5 miles of magnificent water vistas, fine Rye real estate, open spaces and rolling land. While it is the smallest city in Westchester, Rye provides an array of activities for residents and visitors to enjoy.

The county-operated Rye Playland Amusement Park, located on 78 waterfront acres with ice-skating rink, pool and boardwalk, and Oakland Beach are favorite spots during the summer months. The municipal Golf Club offers an 18-hole golf course, an Olympic-size swimming pool and three wading pools, all exclusively for Rye residents.

The Long Island Sound provides for excellent fishing and boating. The Rye marina allows for up to 350 boats to dock. Nature lovers can enjoy strolls through Rye Nature Center, with 46 acres of hidden trails for field trips, a bird sanctuary and a nature museum. A Westchester County-owned Marshland Conservancy of more than 100 acres is also within the city limits. While maintaining a country atmosphere, Rye's central location 25 miles from New York City makes it a very special place to live.
