The Village of Rye Brook is situated 26 miles from midtown Manhattan in southern Westchester, within the city of Rye, New York. The town's heritage dates back to 1660, when a group of settlers from Greenwich, Connecticut purchased the land from the Siwanoy Indians.
Today, three municipalities constitute the whole Town of Rye. They include the Village of Port Chester, Rye Neck and Westchester's newest municipality, the Village of Rye Brook.
Incorporated in 1982, Rye Brook boasts approximately 8,000 residents occupying 3.5 miles of beautiful, rolling, wooded land. Rye Brook has experienced much growth since being incorporated, especially because of its close proximity to the Westchester County Airport, part of which is in the village, and to several major highways, including Interstates 95, 287 and 684 and the Hutchinson River Parkway.
Winding, tree-lined streets with well-maintained single-family Rye Brook homes, numerous parks and playgrounds, recreation areas and open spaces characterize this thriving, enthusiastic community.
